Contemorary "anversoise" reassembled binding, with rich blindstamped
impressions on the plates, two portraits are depicted; sprayed edges.
(15) - from 8 to 223- (1) -1b. numbered leaves. Typographic mark on the
two title pages and on the recto of the last folio; some woodcut initials.
Rare first complete edition of the two parts: the Duel and The Knightly
Answers, the latter often missing. "Among the writers of chivalric science
who are more frequently cited by everyone, Muzio comes first, whose
name is so sacred in this matter" (Maffei, p.253)
Good condition with a particularly attractive binding; some stains in the
first leaves, signs of usage on binding with cracks on the hinges.
